Welcome to Old World Horses

From a dream....into reality....and onto the future

The First Lady...

It is my pleasure to announce that Narrawins First Lady is the newest member of our stud. I would like to thank Yvonne Lehey for allowing me to purchase her. Yvonne has owned and loved Lady for many years, and has put so much time into training her with wonderful results.

I first met Lady when I visited Victoria back in January. Yvonne's was my last stop in Victoria before packing up, and heading north to New South Wales. I was introduced to her Paso's and a couple of lovely Saddlebred mares. One which caught my eye immediately was Lady. As Lady snuggled up, I found myself thinking how much of a lovely mare she was, and how I could fit her on the plane to come back home with me..... :)

It was not until much later in the year, that I heard Yvonne was desperately needing to find a new home for her. Not wanting to let this lovely mare slip away, I contacted Yvonne straight away, and Lady was to be mine :)

Lady is currently staying with Yvonne until the coming breeding season where she will be joined to Dreamer's Midnight Commander, before heading home. This cross should result in a stunning foal, and my fingers are crossed for a black...

I consider myself lucky to have Narrawin horse at our stud. Chris Yeardly of Narrawin's Stud has made the heartbreaking decision to disperse of her remaining Saddlebred's, to concentrate on her Paso's. Her contribution to the breed in Australia has been invaluable. Thanks for breeding some wonderful Saddlebred's over the years Chris! :)

Jessie joins our stud......

After many years of breeding Shire horses, Inspiration Valley Shires is scaling down. We where able to acquire Inspiration Valley Jessie to join us here @ Old World Horses.

Jessie is a beautiful big black traditional Shire mare with loads of feather. Jessie traces back to the first Shire horses that where introduced into Australia in the 1980's. She carries both the lines of Cowhill Sovereign and Ladbrook Edward.

She is settling into her new home well, and we are looking forward to putting her in foal this breeding season.

Welcome to the world.....

The day has finally arrived. Blossom foaled a gorgeous colt on the 30-12-09. He is chestnut with a blaze and 3 white socks. What a little ripper!! Both mum and foal are going great guns. Blossom foaled unassited with no problems, taking on the role of 1st time motherhood seriously, not letting her foal to venture too far away from her.

Expressions of Interest on his purchase are welcomed, please visit the sales page for more information.
